DNA Sampling & GBVS

We DNA Sample all of our weaners and receive their Sire, poll status & GBVS (genetic breeding values). This gives us a good indication of which bulls to use and which of our breeding females are excelling. 

Performance Recording & EBVS 

As well as the GBVs we also do a lot of performance recording to get EBV's (estimated breeding values)  results as well. The performance recording includes 200/400/600 day weights & scrotals for males, Ovarian scanning at 24months for our females which are all yearling mated, fat scans, semen testing and of course yearly preg-tests to identify which females are repetitively performing. We also believe good data is as valuable as bad data, as we can identify which animals are not performing and discontinue the use of their genetics. 

Good Temperament 

As always we pride ourselves on the natural temperament of our cattle and this is seen right from weaning. Good temperament just makes working cattle easier and a lot less stressful on the cattle and on cattlemen and is at the forefront of the Senepol & Belmont breeds.
